Paris is a great place to relax and find inspiration…… Every nook and corner has a garden, but a few are so outstanding and blow your mind away. This was one such experience….. a lovely place to relax and spend a few hours in. The palace gardens are beautifully manicured.

8. Montmartre and Sacre Coeur

This experience was surreal!! Do NOT leave Paris without visiting this monument , I repeat DO NOT!!  If you are looking for an amazing sunset visit Montmartre! The sight and view from this place is spectacular- both at day and night.

Montmartre

Above left is a picture just before sunset and right at midnight !

You can either hike to this place – or you can take the funicular from the bottom of the hill (the ride is free with the day travel pass). We hiked to get here …… it’s quite a steep hike followed by flight of stairs, so keep that in mind if you are doing it with young children.

My son walking up the stairs…. such a rewarding view once you get up there !

Enjoying sunset

The view from above is extraordinary… you can sit by the stairs and listen to live accordion music while watching the sunset- a memory you wont forget! After sunset we dined at an Irish restaurant right around the corner and then took the funicular down to the nearest metro station.
