Frocks and Cakes: A personalized 1/2 Birthday Party!
Summer is around the corner and what better time to introduce my new collection- Frocks and Cakes! My daughter was completing 6 months in ’14 (Yes, this post comes 4+ years later!!!), and i wanted to put together a unique half birthday.
Why unique? I personalized prop design by using couple of my favorite outfits of hers and a frame with her hand and foot print taken on the big day! The cake was personalized to match with her party outfit. 6 treats of each type were added to complement with the cake
Here is the table layout.

- 4. Pink table cloth
- 5. Pink lace table runner
- 6. Crepe Paper streamers
Cup-cakes : 6 cupcakes with red velvet and cream cheese frosting. Cream cheese isn’t the best when it comes to piping, so i decided to do little floral swirls to match with the frock design, and added cute fondant butterflies.
Cake-pops : dual color cake pops with fondant bows to match with the frock!
Marshmallow Treats and Rose Milk: Easy fix treats , semi- dipped marshmallows in pink candy for the dual color . pearl sprinkles with edible bow toppers to personalize. For the Rose Milk i used a ready-mix powder. Used the milk cups as stand for the marshmallow treats 🙂
Raspberry Jello: Ready-mix raspberry jello and added fresh raspberries for the color-pop!
The CAKE!!!! My favorite, the cake ! was made to match with the party frock. The batter was stained in hues of pink and the same hues for the fondant ruffles.
I hope that this post left you inspired for your next Party! Be yourself, be unique and remember to recognize people that inspire you everyday.
Happy Baking, Love Thula
